Sockscriptions still at the same price as in 1999
The BLACKSOCKS sockscription is a real success story. Not only because we are now sending out regular sock deliveries to customers in 75 countries, but also because the price has remained the same for 15 years. The classic sockscription still costs the same as it did in 1999.
The wallets of BLACKSOCKS customers have been completely unaffected by multiple increases in postal charges, the VAT increase, ongoing improvements to existing products by using higher-quality materials and rocketing cotton prices: there have been no price increases since 1999.
In 1999, the year BLACKSOCKS was founded, the delivery of three pairs of calf socks three times a year cost 98 francs In 2014, three deliveries of three pairs of calf socks still cost 98 francs, or, as of 2001, 66 euros.
This is despite the fact that the cost of living has increased by nearly 11 percent over the same period, as evidenced by the national consumer price index. If you take this price increase into consideration, a BLACKSOCKS sockscription should cost 108.40 francs today. But it doesn't. BLACKSOCKS can only do this by passing economies of scale onto the customer.
