Back in 1999, BLACKSOCKS launched a completely new idea designed to free mankind from sock stress: the sockscription. In September 2008, we had a very good reason to celebrate: the delivery of our one millionth pair of calf socks! In February 2008, the Swiss consumer magazines «Kassensturz» and Ktipp arranged for the Hohenstein Institute in Germany to test 16 of the best-selling men’s socks.
With 5.2 out of 6 possible points, the BLACKSOCKS calf socks were declared the winner. Our calf socks are not only comfortable, they are also very hard-wearing. In the test, the socks were rubbed continually back and forth against a standardised textile. The first hole appeared on the sole after being rubbed no less than 30,000 times.
