BLACKSOCKS celebrates the launch of its colourful socks

Zurich, 24 August 2010. After more than eleven "black" years, the e-commerce pioneer is embracing colour and giving its bestselling range of black calf socks a splash of brightness. The high-quality Pima cotton calf sock now also comes in red, anthracite and navy and is available on subscription, in a multipack, or as a trial pair.

Since the sockscription was launched in 1999, BLACKSOCKS has delivered more than one million black calf socks to customers worldwide. The bestseller sock owes its success to its unmistakable quality. It is not without good reason that it fended off 14 other varieties of men's socks to be declared the winner of a test carried out by leading consumer magazine Kassensturz.

"Until now we have deliberately kept our colour range understated", says Samy Liechti, founder and owner of BLACKSOCKS. He continues: "In our latest survey, our customers inspired us to incorporate brightly coloured socks into our range. We didn't hang around for long before following their wishes. It is no coincidence that we have opted for red socks, amongst other colours, because the colour of love increases the attractiveness of men. And it does so in several areas: prestige, success und professional status. »¹

A bright addition to an old classic

Until now, the bestseller and test winner was only available in black. Since August 2010, customers have been able to bring a splash of colour to their socks and lend a little more variety to their usually "monotone" daily sock wearing. The calf socks are now also available in various sizes in red, anthracite and navy. Just like their black counterpart, the colourful socks are also produced in accordance with the Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 and are thus one-hundred percent skin-friendly and allergy-tested. The colourful calf socks are available on subscription, in a multipack or as a trial pair with prices starting at CHF 12 (including delivery): the same prices as 11 years ago.
