When do your socks start to fade?

Faded flowers end up in the compost. Sour milk goes down the drain. And old socks? Faded, colourless and bobbly ones?

They normally end up back on our feet. Because people don't think that socks have an expiry date too. But there comes a time when you need to clear even your super-comfy favourite socks out of the drawer.

Put them on or chuck them out? Following are a few stages in the life of a sock which should make this decision easier for you.
